Pensioen / Retirement

Dit bord heeft jarenlang boven de deur bij mijn ouders gehangen.

Gisteravond hebben mijn broertje en ik het weggehaald.

Mijn vader trok de stekker van de zaak-telefoon los.

En we hebben een glaasje champagne gedronken op de verkoop van hun zaak.
Vanaf vandaag zijn zij officieel met pensioen!

Een welverdiend pensioen, ze hebben 38 jaar in de verzekeringen gezeten.
In het begin deed mijn vader de verzekeringen en mijn moeder deed, naast een bijna full-time baan, de administratie.
10 jaar geleden, nadat mijn moeder haar baan kwijt raakte door reorganisaties, zijn ze co-eigenaren geworden.

Starting today they are officially retired!

A well deserved retirement, they had the business for 38 years.
In the beginning my dad sold insurances and my mom, besides having an almost full-time job, did all the paperwork.
10 years ago, after losing her job 'cause of reorganizations , they became co-owners.
Veel mensen vragen of ze nu dan van het leven gaan genieten.
Gelukkig hebben ze dat altijd al gedaan.
't Is toch zonde om daar mee te wachten tot je 66 en 61 bent!

A lot of people ask them if they are finally going to enjoy the good things in life.
Luckily they've always done that.
It's a shame to wait enjoying until you're 66 and 61!

Pagemaps schets

Aan deze challenge op het Pagemaps-blog mag ik helaas niet mee doen; het is alleen voor inwoners van de VS en van Canada.
Maar ik heb er wel een leuke schets en kaart aan overgehouden!

Dit kaartje is ook weer voor een collegaatje.
Zij is deze vakantie gaan samenwonen met haar vriend.
Ze heeft dan wel geen huis verkocht, maar ik vind de stempel toch wel passen.

De materialen zijn hetzelfde als van de laatste kaartjes en zijn hier beschreven.
Ook heb ik hier een Quickutz-alfabet gebruikt, maar ik weet niet meer welke.
Was misschien toch wel handig geweest om de namen er bij te zetten.....

Hey, but I got a great sketch and a great card out of it!

This card is also for a co-worker.
Sh moved in with her boyfriend this vacation.
She didn't sell a house, but I still think it fits the occassion.

The materials are the same as in the last few cards and I listed them here.
I also used a Quickutz-alphabet, but I don't know which.
Maybe it would have made sense to put the names with my alphabets.....

Nog even en ik heb er nog maar 50 te gaan tot ik 250 LOs/kaarten gemaakt heb met materiaal wat ik in huis had toen ik aan de challenge begon.
Ik begon vorig jaar november met dit berichtje en in juni had ik er 100 af.

Ik besloot toen om de challenge voort te zetten en te gaan voor de 250.
En ik besloot om alles wat ik op dat moment in huis had mee te laten tellen.
Zoveel had ik tenslotte niet gekocht.

En wanneer ik nu 250 haal, zet ik de teller op 500.
Gaat vast niet lukken, maar het lijkt me leuk om te zien hoe ver ik kom.
Alles wat ik op de dag dat ik de 250 LOs/kaarten haal in huis heb, telt dan mee.
Ben benieuwd wanneer ik daar ben.

Just a little while and I only have 50 to go until I've finished 250 LOs/cards with materials from the stash I had when I started this challenge.
I started in november last year with this post and in june I'd finished the 1st 100.

I decided to continue the challenge and set my goal at 250.
And I decided that everything that was in my stash on that day counted for the challenge.
I had not bought that much all those months.

And when I reach 250, I'll set my goal at 500.
I'm sure I won't get there, but it's fun to see how far I can go.

Ik wilde de schulprand eigenlijk andersom plakken, maar bij het ponsen ging er iets niet helemaal goed en nu zitten er links onder wat dubbele gaatjes en is 'ie een beetje scheef.
Maar wie ziet dat nu nog? ;0))

I wanted to use the scalloped edge the other way around, but something didn't go right when I was using it and now in the corner on the bottom left some of the holes are punched twice and it's not quit straight.
But who can see that now? ;0))

11 jaar geleden..... / 11 years ago.....

.....op 30 december kocht ik mijn eerste eigen huis.
En nu 11 jaar later geniet ik nog steeds van de rust en het plezier van het alleen wonen.
(Zelfs wanneer ik alleen maar kaartjes maak en radio luister!)

Lauren publiceert elke zaterdag een schets op haar blog.
Tijdens het bloghoppen kwam ik op haar blog terecht en ben vandaag aan de slag gegaan met haar schets # 17.

Papier is van 3Bugs in a Rug. Geen idee welke lijn het is.
Ook dit is weer een kit van CardArt.
De stempel is een Bella van StampingBella, gekleurd met Copics.
De tekst hoort bij deze stempel. Er zitten er verschillende bij.
De bloemetjes, het lint en de bling komt uit mijn voorraad.
De speld zat bij de kit.

Friday Sketchers # 33

In januari is een neefje van mijn jarig en daarom heb ik dit kaartje voor hem gemaakt.
Ik heb de schets van Friday Sketchers gebruikt hiervoor.
Ook weer een hele leuke schets!

Papier is van Basic Grey - Archaic.
De grote tag is een Coluzzle-mal en de kleine is van Quickutz.
Eyelets en cardstock zijn van Bazzil.

Voor het Magnolia-afdrukje heb ik gebruik gemaakt van stickles, Prisma-potloden, doezelaars en reukloze terpentine.
Op zijn wangetje heb ik met een witte Inkssentials pen wat puntjes gezet.

A cousin of mine has his birthday in January and I made him this card.
I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers.
Also a very nice sketch!

Paper is Basic Grey - Archaic.

For the Magnolia-image I used stickles, Prisma-pencils, paper stumps and odourless white spirit.
I put some white dots on his cheeks with an Inkssentials white opaque pen.

Spiral Whisper new release & blog-candy

In januari komt Spiral Whisper met nieuwe stempels.
Nou hadden ze al hele mooie jongens-stempels op de rol staan, maar de nieuwe meisjes-stempels zijn echt helemaal geweldig!
Het zou wel heel tof zijn om die te winnen!

They have some great boy-stamps planned, but these girlie stamps are totally awesome!
Would be so cool to win them!

Magnolia v Stampavie schets + # 148

Ik heb de schets van Magnolia v Stampavie gebruikt om deze kaart te maken.
Ik geef 'm alleen niet door voor de challenge daar, want je mag alleen bepaalde merken stempels gebruiken.
En My Favorite Things zit daar niet bij.
Maar de schets blijft geweldig!

Dit is het laatste papier uit deze kit van CardArt.
Met deze kit heb ik wel 8 kaarten kunnen maken.
Ik heb alleen wit cardstock toegevoegd.

Papier is van Doodlebug. De sneeuwvlokken en wanten komen uit mijn voorraad.
Geen idee welk merk het is.
De stempel is dus van MFT en ook weer gekleurd met Copics.

En ook weer stickles gebruikt op de mutsen.

Ik heb wit cardstock gebruikt, maar dat lijkt op de foto heel licht blauw.

En weer 4 kaarten af, dus ik zit al op # 148 voor de 250LOchallenge.

It's not eligable for their challenge, 'cause you can only use certain brands of stamps.
And My Favorite Things is not one of them.
But the sketch is still awesome!

This is the last paper from this CardArt-kit.
I've made 8 cards with this kit.
I just had to add some white cardstock.

Paper is by Doodlebug. The snowflakes and the mittens are from my stash.
No idea what brand they are.
The stamp is by MFT and I colored again with my Copics.

And I used stickles again for the hats.

I have used white cardstock, but in the photo it looks light-blue.

And I've finished 4 cards again, so I'm up to # 148 of the 250LOchallenge.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge # 50

Mary Jo zet elke maandag een schets op haar blog Techno Stamper.
Ik sla elke week de schets op, maar heb zelden de tijd om mee te doen.
(Ik geloof zelfs dat ik ooit maar 1 keer meegedaan heb.)

Op de foto is het allemaal heel erg blauw, maar er zit ook wit tussen.
't Zal al wel te laat op de dag zijn om nog echt goede foto's te maken.
Je moet je maar gewoon voorstellen dat al dat hele lichte blauw wit is! ;0))

Papier is van Doodlebug. Komt ook weer uit een kit van CardArt.
De stempel heb ik al jaren in huis. Geen idee van welk merk 'ie is.
Gekleurd weer met mijn Copics. (Hoe kon ik ooit zonder?!)
De tekststempel is van My Favorite Things.

Every monday Mary Jo posts a sketch on her blog Techno Stamper.
I always save the sketches to my pc, but I rarely have time to play with them.
(I believe I even entered only once.)

On the photo it's all very blue, but there's also some white.
It must be to late in the day for good photos.
Just imagine that all that very light blue is white irl! ;0))

I havehad the stamp for years, no idea what brand it is.

Sketch Saturday - challenge #31 + #147 - 2

Vergeet ik nog helemaal te vertellen dat het papier van de laatste 4 kaarten van Fancy Pants is.
Geen idee welke lijn het is, dat stond niet meer op de strip onderaan.
De stempels zijn van My Favorite Things - Hot Stuff.

Ook dit papier is, op een paar kleine stukjes na, helemaal op.
Nu kon ik de binnen- en achterkant wel versieren.

Het papier van de afgelopen dagen komt allemaal van CardArt.
Ik heb daar tot van de zomer de cardkit gehad. Door omstandigheden moest ik stoppen, maar ik heb nu gemaild dat ik 'm vanaf januari weer heel graag wil ontvangen.

No idea what line, it didn't say that anymore on the bottom strip.

This paper is also finished, apart from some scraps.
Now I could decorate the inside and the back.

I bought all the papers from the last few days at CardArt.
I had their cardkit until last summer. Circumstances made me stop getting them, but I've mailed them that I want to recieve their kits starting next january.

Sketch Saturday - challenge #31 + #147

De challenge bij Sketch Saturday is erg leuk deze keer: kies uit hun 30 schetsen je favoriet en maak daar een kaart mee.

Ik kreeg het aantal favorieten teruggebracht tot 4 en heb gewoon met alle schetsen een kaart gemaakt.
En nu weet ik welke ik het leukste vind: de schets die hoort bij de bovenste kaart.

En omdat ik weer 4 kaartjes heb, komt er weer 1 bij voor de 250LOchallenge.

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - Sketch #12

Gisteren kwam ik dit challengeblog tegen.
Altijd handig om een voorraadje verjaardags- en kerstkaarten te hebben. (Van die laatste heb ik er al 11 voor volgend jaar!)

Gisteravond heb ik mijn pc uit, mijn laptop aan (om de schetsen te kunnen zien) en Radio2 aangezet.
Heerlijk elk jaar die Top2000!
Ik heb zo 6 kaarten gemaakt.
Niet gek voor 1 avond.

Voor deze kaart heb ik mijn laatste stukjes Chatterbox-papier gebruikt.
Was best moeilijk om er afscheid van te nemen! ;0))

Yesterday I found this challengeblog.
Always wise to have some birthday- and chritsmascards on hand. (Of the last I already have 11 for next year!)

Last night I turned of my pc, turned on my laptop (to see the sketches) and turned on the radio for the Top2000. (They have that every year from the 26th of December untill midnight on the 31st.)
Love the Top2000!
I amde 6 cards this way.
Not bad for 1 night.

I used up my last scraps of Chatterbox-papers.
It's hard to say goodbye to it! ;0))

.....en toch 4 hele andere kaarten.
Ik heb verschillende schetsen gebruikt voor deze kaarten en daardoor zijn ze toch allemaal anders.
Papier is van Cloud9Design, de Sunrise Smoothie-lijn.

Helaas is dit papier nu bijna helemaal op.
Ik had nog net 4 dunne strookjes om aan de binnenkant te plakken en wat stukjes om de stempel met mijn naam op de achterkant te kunnen zetten, maar die achterkant heb ik niet verder kunnen versieren.

Alle afbeeldingen heb ik gekleurd met mijn Copics.

I used different sketches for these cards and this way they all turned out different.

Unfortunatly this paper is almost all gone now.
I had just 4 small strips left to put on the inside and just enough to put the stamp with my name on it to put on the back.
But I didn't have any left to decorate the back.

I colored all the images with my Copics.

Workshop: Scrap This!

Nancy maakt geweldige kaarten en soms maakt ze daar een workshop van.
Tot nu toe heb ik niet mee kunnen doen binnen de tijd die zij had staan voor workshop, maar deze keer is het wel gelukt.
Gisteren heerlijk aan de slag geweest met de mooie Laurel-lijn van Scenic Route.

Een collegaatje van me is verhuisd van Breda naar Eindhoven (wat een stuk om elke dag te gaan rijden/treinen!) en voor haar heb ik dit kaartje gemaakt.
Ik wist meteen toen ik de workshop zag, dat ik voor haar hiermee een kaart wilde maken.

Yesterday I worked with the beautiful Laurel-line by Scenic Route.

One of my co-workers moved about 45/60 minutes away from where she lived before and from where our school is (that's a long comute (sp?) for us Dutchies!) and I made this card for her. It says: "A new house".
The minute I saw the workshop, I knew I wanted to make this card for her.

Everybody-Art-Challenge + My Time to Craft + Cute Card Thursday

Deze kaart is 3 challenges in 1!

Bij Everybody-Art-Challenge hebben ze een schets die je moet gebruiken.

Ik heb het formaat van de kaart aangepast, maar volgens mij is de schtes nog goed te herkennen.

De challenge bij My Time To Craft is een kleur-challenge.

Je moet de kleur groen gebruiken.

Is volgens mij aardig gelukt. Oké, er zit ook wit en geel bij, maar wie heeft ooit groen kunnen maken zonder geel? ;0))

En de laatste challenge is bij Cute Card Thursday.

Zij hebben deze keer een open thema.

En wat is er nu meer 'cute' dan een pasgeboren baby?

De baby is nog wel niet geboren, dat zal in februari gebeuren.

Een collegaatje en haar man krijgen hun 2e kindje; een jongen.

En aangezien ik niet van dat traditionele blauw en roze ben voor baby's, leek groen me een geweldige kleur voor een jongenskaart.

Ik heb eindelijk weer eens gewerkt met mijn Prisma-potloden, geurloze terpentine en doezelaars.

Heerlijk als je de tijd hebt om met je spullen te spelen!

I changed the size of the card, but I think you can still recognise the sketch.

The challenge at My Time To Craft is a color-challenge.

You have to use the color green.

I think I've got that covered. Okay, there's also white and yellow, but how ever made green without yellow? ;0))

And the last challenge is at Cute Card Thursday.

They have an open theme this time.

And what's more cute than a newborn?

The baby isn't born yet, that will happen in february.

A co-worker and her husband will have their 2nd child; a boy.

And since I'm not one for traditional blue and pink for babies, I thought green would be nice for a boycard.

I finally used my Prisma-pencils, odourless spirit and paperstumps again.

I love it when I've got time to play with the stuff I have!
