I have been wanting to play along with Blogabella's friday-challenges for a while, but until now I didn't have the chance.

Got Sketch? - sketch # 81

*
With the scraps from
this LO, a made a card using sketch # 81 from Got Sketch?
Tomorrow they will have a new LOsketch. Can't wait to see what they come up with!

Materials:
  • pp: WeRMemeoryKeepers - White Out-collection - Hoopla
  • American Crafts chipboard glitter thickers
  • Felt leaves & embroidery floss: from stash

*
I kept the inside very simple this time.
I wanted to use the same shape as on the front and some more paper at the bottom didn't feel good to me.

The back:

*
During my bloghops I sometimes see embellishments lying in front of a card and I always think that looks so good.
By accident, the velt was in my photo and that looked really good.
Later I put it there on purpose.
I'm going to do something like that more often!

While I'm typing all this, I realise that I always do this with my Copics.
I put them in front of the card, so you see part of the card in the photo also.

# 228

Materials:
  • pp & letterstickers: Basic Grey - Blush
  • Rub-ons: Scrapworks - Risky Business
  • Stitching template: Bazzill
  • Black identipen
  • Embroidery floss: from stash

*
I stole the idea for this LO from Thea. (Not the Thea that's in the photo. To make things easy, 2 of my scrapsisters are called Thea. And that in our group of 4.)
Thank you! I finally got a chance to cut up my BasicGrey Blush. That was hanging around here without any purpose. (aka: I didn't want to cut it. Totally no problem anymore!)

Title & journaling:

what's NOT right with this photo?

Thea and I both have a very obvious favorite color. For one it's blue, for the other pink.
Looking at this photo you could easily combine the wrong person with those colors.

*
Before I had a hard time cutting into my precious papers.
But that's ancient history! I'll cut, use punches, tear and when it's finished, it's finished!
There's so much wonderfull paper out there. And when I really want to use it again, I'll just buy some more.
(Like I did with these papers.)

52Sketches - week 17

*
Last week I didn't have time to make a LO with the sketch on 52Sketches.
This week I did better: the sketch was posted yesterday and all I had to do today was add the title.

Have been stitching away again.
Is there something like SA? Stitchers Anonymous: "Hi, I'm Arianne and I'm addicted to stitching....."

*
A LO with a story:
I had everything cut, but I had to decide if I wanted the stripes on the background to be vertical or horizontal.
I put everything down, took a photo, turned the background, took another photo.
What I wanted became clear very quickly: vertical stripes.
When I was more than halfway through stitching the scraps, I saw that the stripes were horizontal.
Well, but I still like it!

Materials:

  • pp: WeRMemoryKeepers - White Out-collection - Hoopla
  • Cardstock: Core'Dinations
  • Stitching template: Bazzill
  • Title: Doodlebug (rub-ons) & Quickutz
  • Quickutz-Squeeze
  • Circle-punches: Make Me & EK Succes
  • Black identipen
  • Bards & embroidery floss: from stash

Schets / Sketch

Yeah me!

*
Today I made a card-sketch and matching card. For me that was a first.
Yeah me!

Last night I woke up a couple of times and couldn't sleep, 'cause I was fretting about it.
Maggie Bob asked us to make some sketches for the challenges at SSS.
No obligation, just for fun.
And that kept me up last night.....

But now the first sketch and card are finished.
I can't show them yet; my turn is somewhere in June!

And the card (and post) for the 10th is ready.
Super easy that you can schedule a post. (As long as it works. Not like with our blog-hop today!)

And my card for the 15th is also ready and sent to Deanne.
So it can be published at Just My Sketches.
(And the post for that reveal is also scheduled.)

Sunday Sketch & Stamp blog-hop

You'll find the answer somewhere on my blog, so be sure to have a good look around!

When you've found the answer, write it down and then hop on over to the next blog.

Mother's and Daughters Creations - Challenge MDCC40

*
The challenge at Mothers and Daughters Creations is to use rhinestones.
And I just used them on my LO 'Little mermaid' today!

1st challenge blog hop

Tomorrow we kick off at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.
The last few days the DT has talked about things we can do.
One of those things we thought of is a blog-hop to start our 1st challenge.
Tomorrow at 10 a.m. (time in the Netherlands) it will start at the blog.
There's an explenation about the blog-hop on the blog already.

I hope that a lot of you will be 'hopping' with us tomorrow!

Title & journaling:
Art can be found in the streets.

While we are walking through Paris, we come across this building. Amazing! No idea who the man is, but it's real beautiful to look at.
This way you see you have to look around: you can find art anywhere in the streets.

*
An old sketch by
Valerie Salmon, but very suitable for these photos.

These crosses stood near Checkpoint Charlie when we were in Berlin.
I understand they had to get them down. I don't know why.

*
I started on this LO over at Thea's.
My Sisters (Hey, girls!) and I try to get together each month.
Unfortunatly we don't manage every month, 'cause a day full of talking and scrapping is always great.
I forgot my needle and thread, so I made the LO as far as I could.
I only had to do the stitching when I came back home.

Journaling:

A cross and a photo..... One cross and one photo for all the people who fell victim to the wall.

To celebrate this they are publishing a sketch every week this month.
Last week was a LOsketch (that I used to make this LO) and this week it's a cardsketch.

Creative Scrappers - sketch # 46 & wij DUS - 1 april challenge

*
It's no secret that I love sketches and challenges and when I can combine a sketch and a challenge, I really like it!

I have used sketch # 46 by
Creative Scrappers.
Again a great sketch to work with.
And very suitable for a card also.

At wij DUS the challenge this month is 'Act silly'.
I do that a lot, but luckily I don't have many photos proving that!

This photo was taken last year during a spinning-marathon here in the town-square.
My parents neighbours that live acroos the street from them came walking by eating an ice-cream and I really felt like eating one!
Luckily my mom took the photo at the right time!

Materials:
  • pp: Scenic Route - North Shore
  • Letters: American Crafts puffy thickers & Doodlebug (rub-ons)
  • Brads & embroidery floss: from stash

*
Here you can see the photo and title a little better.
On the photo of the whole LO they seem to disappear a bit.
(Maybe you can enlarge the photo this time, I never know when you can or can't. Blogger is acting up sometimes.)

*
Although I used the same line of paper as on
this and this LO, it doens't count for the 250LO-challenge.
I bought these papers at on sale somewhere
, thinking I didn't have it yet.
There were some papers I didn't have yet and I used those new papers here.

Pagemaps - What's on 'My Mind's Eye'-contest & Café Mojo - challenge # 10

*
There is a great sketch on the Pagemapsblog.
And there's a really great prize to win with this sketch: the whole Penny Lane-line by 'My mind's Eye'!

The challenge is not only the sketch, you also had to make your LO about something that's on 'My Mind's Eye'.
At this moment that's spring for me.
So glad it's finally here!
This LO is also for this weeks challenge at Café Mojo: paper pieRcing.
I think my paper has been pierced plenty!

Kijk maar eens naar deze details:

I think I went a little overboard with the stitching.....
Look at these deatils:

  • Title: Doodlebug (rub-ons) & Quickutz

Mother's and Daughters Creations - Challenge MDCC40

And I just used them on my LO 'Little mermaid' today!

You can see the LO in the post just below this one, but here's a close-up of the rhinestones:

1st challenge blog hop

The last few days the DT has talked about things we can do.
One of those things we thought of is a blog-hop to start our 1st challenge.
Tomorrow at 10 a.m. (time in the Netherlands) it will start at the blog.
There's an explenation about the blog-hop on the blog already.

Journaling:

*

Journaling:

To celebrate this they are publishing a sketch every week this month.
Last week was a LOsketch (that I used to make this LO) and this week it's a cardsketch.
And a real nice one!

Materials:
  • Cardstock & embroidery stencils: Bazzill
  • pp: Imaginisce
  • Letters: American Crafts vinyl thickers
  • Nestabilities die & Cuttlebug
  • Black identipen
  • Embroidery floss: from stash

*
I think I went a little overboard with the stitching.....
Look at these deatils:

*
In the post about my last LO, I spoke about the difficulty I have with 'white space', but I definitly don't have problems with white!
