Confused..... Lost.....

Op het blog van Nicole kwam ik vanmorgen deze foto tegen en die geeft precies aan hoe ik me op dit moment voel.
Een tijdje terug heb ik al eens geschreven dat de balans tussen werk en privé helemaal scheef is en dat is alleen maar erger geworden. Zo erg zelfs, dat ik nu tegen een burn-out aan zit.


Je snapt wel dat ik natuurlijk niet thuis wil komen te zitten en daarom neem ik deze week herfstvakantie tijd voor mezelf. Ik moet (dat woord moet uit mijn vocabulaire!) mag alleen maar doen waar ik zin in heb.
Misschien hoor je dus veel van me deze week en misschien hoor je helemaal niks. Ik doe in ieder geval waar ik zin in heb!

I found the photo this morning on Nicole's blog and it shows exactly how I feel at the moment.
A while ago I wrote that the balance between work and play was out of balance and that only got worse. So bad in fact, that I'm real close to a burn-out.


I don't want to end up at home, so I'm taking lots of me-time this week of fall-break. I have to (those words have to be stricken from my vocabulairy) may only do what I feel like doing.
Maybe you'll hear a lot from me this week and maybe you don't. I'm doing what feels good to me!

Waarom Blogger nou nog steeds al mijn berichten er dubbel opzet, blijft een raadsel.

Harry Potter - blog-hop

Vorige week was er een nieuwe release van Bugaboo Stamps: Harry Potter digi's.

Ik vind ze helemaal geweldig!

Om deze release te vieren hadden ze een blog-hop georganiseerd met daaraan verbonden een wedstrijd. Je moest een aantal vragen beantwoorden over Harry Potter en je moest ook tellen hoe vaak Hagrid's foto langskwam tijdens de hop.

Glee

Elke keer wanneer ik een aflevering van Glee zie, wordt ik helemaal vrolijk en wil ik alleen maar zingen en dansen! ;0)

Scrapbooking vs card making

Wat vind ik nou het leukste? Als je mijn blog de laatste tijd ziet, zou je denken dat ik ga voor het kaarten maken, maar scrappen vind ik toch ook wel heel leuk.
Vandaag ben ik naar AkkeFietje geweest voor de workshop 'albumtrack V' (klik hier voor albumtrack I en hier voor albumtrack IV)en ik heb heerlijk genoten van het scrappen en ik ben nu ook weer bezig met dit album.
Een kaart is alleen wel snel klaar, je ziet meteen wat je maakt.
Ik denk dat het er gewoon vanaf hangt hoe mijn pet staat, de uitslag is dus: scrappen en kaarten maken!


Ik kan nog niks laten zien van het album, want de pagina's zijn tot nu toe alleen af zonder foto's.
Ik had geen tijd (en energie) om de foto's van te voren uit te zoeken en om vergrotingen te bestellen. Nu heb ik dat wel gedaan en ik ben bezig om de foto's die ik al heb in te plakken.
Hopelijk zijn mijn foto's snel hier!


(Ik heb albumtrack II helaas gemist en ze hadden er ook geen pakket meer van. Van albumtrack III ligt het pakket hier, klaar met de foto's erbij, alleen staan de afmetingen niet bij de schetsen. Kost even tijd om dat uit te zoeken en die tijd heb ik nog niet vrij gemaakt.
Vandaag zat er iemand naast me die bij de workshop alle afmetingen genoteerd had en zij heeft toegezegd ze me te mailen. Scheelt heel veel tijd!)

What do I like most? Looking at my blog lately, you would think that I prefer card making, but I also really like scrapbooking.
Today I went to AkkeFietje for the workshop 'albumtrack V' (click here for albumtrack I and here for albumtrack IV)and I really enjoyed scrapping and I'm working on the album as we speak.
A card is created real fast, you see immediatly what you're creating.
I think it just depends on how I feel, so the reslut is: scrapbooking and card making!


I can't show you anything of this album, 'cause the pages are only partially finished and without photos.
I didn't have the time (and the energy) to look for the photos and order enlargments before the workshop. Now I have done this and I'm busy sticking down the pfotos that I already have.
Hopefully my photos are here quickly!


(I have unfortunatly missed albumtrack II and they didn't have the stuff anymore. I do have albumtrack III here, ready with photos, but there are no dimensions with the sketches. It takes some time to sort that out and I haven't taken the time yet.
Today there was someone sitting next to me that wrote sown all the dimensions at the workshop and she said she would mail them to me.)

Miss Purrrfect

Heel erg, maar ik heb mijn kaart voor challenge # 36 van Sunday Sketch & Stamp nooit gepubliceerd.
En vandaag is challenge # 37 van start gegaan. Helaas zonder een kaartje van mij.


Ik moet de balans tussen werk en privé weer even zien te vinden zo na de vakantie.
Ik maak (te) lange dagen, vooral omdat ik me heel verantwoordelijk voel voor het gehele groep 3 gebeuren. Niet mijn taak, maar ik vind het moeilijk om los te laten.
Maar ik moet wel, als ik dat niet doe, ga ik er straks aan onderdoor en dat wil ik absoluut niet!
Ff kiezen voor mezelf dus; hoe moeilijk dat ook is.

And today challenge # 37 started, Unfortunatly without a card by me.


I have to find the balance between work and play again after the vacations.
I'm making (to) long days, especially because I feel really responsable for the whole 1st grade stuff.
Not my job, but it's hard to let go.
But I have to, 'cause if I don't, I'll break at the knees and I really don't want that!
Have to choose for myself; even when that's really hard.

Mijn broertje ~ My little brother

Dit is mijn broertje, iemand die ik altijd heel hoog heb geacht en nu ook iemand waar ik ontzettend veel bewondering voor heb.


Eind vorig jaar raakte hij zijn baan als logistiek/materieel planner kwijt. Al de tweede keer; de eerste keer doordat het bedrijf stopte en deze keer omdat hij te duur was voor het nieuwe bedrijf.


Daar zat hij dan, 38 jaar oud met een hypotheek, voor de tweede keer zonder baan en niets te doen de hele dag dan denken.
Een van de dingen die bij hem naar boven kwam was een gevoel van 'wat-draag-ik-nou-bij-aan-deze-wereld'.


Sinds 2 september heeft hij dat gevoel niet meer. 2 september was zijn eerste werkdag als verzorgende. Hij werkt met (jong) volwassenen met een verstandelijke beperking en met iets extra's, zoals een verslaving of een agressieve stoornis.


Het is in het verleden heel vaak gebeurd dat ik hem belde en dat hij het gesprek begon met: "Ik heb eigenlijk geen tijd." Dat zei hij zelfs wanneer hij mij belde.
Maar toen ik hem gisteren belde om te vragen hoe de eerste dag op school was geweest, vertelde hij van alles.
En mijn moeder had hem aan de telefoon vanavond en toen ze ophing zei ze tegen mijn vader: "Jeetje, ik heb een half uur met hem aan de telefoon gezeten".
Zou hij op zijn plekkie zijn daar?


Ik heb zoveel bewondering voor hem om zijn leven zo om te gooien, om genoegen te nemen met heel wat minder salaris dan hij in het bedrijfsleven kan verdienen, om te kiezen voor zichzelf.
Way to go, broertje!

This is my little brother, someone I always thought of highly and now someone who I admire very much also.


End of last year he lost his job as a logistic/material planner. For the second time already; first time 'cause the company where he worked stopped and this second time 'cause he was to expensive for the new company.


So there he was: 38 years old, with a mortgague (sp?), without a job for the second time and nothing else to do but think all day.
One of the things that came up was a feeling of 'what-do-I-contribute-to-the-world'.


Since the 2nd of September he doesn't think that anymore. September 2nd was his first day as a care-taker/nurse. He works with (young) adults with limited capacities and who also have something else, like an addiction or an agressive disorder.


In the past it has happened that I called him and he would start the conversation with: "I don't have time". He even said that when he called me.
But when I called him yesterday to ask him how his first day of school was, he had a lot to tell me.
And my mom talked to hi tonight and when she hung up she told my dad: "Gosh, I talked for half an hour with him".
You think he's in the right place there?


I admire him so much for turning his life around, for having less money than he could make working for some company, for chosing for himself.
Way to go, bro!

We zijn begonnen! ~ We're off!

Altijd spannend die eerste schooldag, zowel voor de kinderen als voor de juf!
En wat dacht je van al die papa's en mama's? Zij hebben er vaak veel meer moeite mee dan de kinderen.
Ik moest van binnen vreselijk lachen toen een meisje, wat nog een jaar in groep 3 is gebleven, vanmorgen zei dat de andere kinderen er wat heel vaak doorheen praten. Dat verschil tussen eind groep 3 en begin groep 3 is zo gigantisch, naar mijn idee groter dan bij welke andere groep dan ook. (En daar is het verschil al zo groot!)


Hopelijk slaap ik heerlijk vanavond, want die laatste nacht van de vakantie slaap ik altijd veel te weinig.....

Always exciting the first day of school, for the kids, but also for the teacher!
And what about all the mom and dads? They have more problems with it than the kids.
I laughed inside today when a girl, that stays in first grade, said this morning that all the other kids where all talking at the same time. The difference between the beginning of first grade and the end of the year is so enormous, I think even bigger than in other grades. (And the difference there is already so big!)


Hopefully I can sleep well tonight, 'cause I never get enough sleep that last night of the vacations.....

(Ondertussen zij ze allemaal klaar, kan ik ze in mijn klas klaar leggen.)
